One of the world's quintessential high-altitude circuit treks, traversing subtropical rivers, pine forests, arid Tibetan plateaus, and crossing the mighty Thorong La Pass (5,416m). Descend into the sacred pilgrimage center of Muktinath and down the world's deepest gorge (Kali Gandaki).
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel, pre-trek briefing, and trip preparation.
Drive from Kathmandu to Jagat/Besisahar via Prithvi Highway following the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers.
Trek from Jagat along the Marsyangdi River valley, crossing suspension bridges into Dharapani. Enter Manang district.
Ascend through pine and fir forests towards Chame, the administrative headquarters of Manang district.
Trek through dense forests with dramatic views of Paungda Danda rock wall and Pisang Peak.
Trek via upper route (Ghyaru & Ngawal) for sweeping vistas of Annapurna II, III, IV, and Gangapurna before arriving in Manang.
Rest and acclimatization in Manang. Side hike to Ice Lake (4,600m) or Milarepa Cave.
Gradual climb out of Marsyangdi valley past alpine pastures and juniper scrub to Yak Kharka.
Climb to the base of Thorong La Pass at Thorong Phedi (4,420m). Early dinner and rest.
Early 4:00 AM start to cross the high Thorong La Pass (5,416m). Descend steeply to sacred Muktinath temple.
Visit Muktinath temple in the morning and trek down through the windy Kali Gandaki valley to Jomsom.
Scenic mountain flight or private 4WD drive from Jomsom to Pokhara. Lakeside evening relaxation.
Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist coach. Farewell celebration dinner.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for international departure.
